FOJKARFIRE is an energetic and dynamic company, specialising in the field of fire safety engineering. Our prime aim is to facilitate the design of buildings, assisting architects in achieving their aspirations whilst simultaneously obtaining building regulations approval.
At the forefront of our approach is the attainment of the right mix of science in the field of fire dynamics and practicality of the design of buildings. This is fundamental in achieving optimal, cost effective solutions. We believe that a fire engineer should have a proactive role in the project team as the fire safety strategy has a major influence on other design team areas (e.g. mechanical services).

We have extensive experience in the use of Slovenian and international fire regulations, especially English codes (Approved Document B and associated British Standards) and the American NFPA suite of standards.
We utilise the latest fire engineering tools (e.g. computational fluid dynamics) in order to provide both fire safety and aesthetically and economically attractive solutions that would not be achievable by only following the rigid prescriptive building codes.
We have valuable professional connections both in Slovenian and internationally, allowing us to obtain independent, third-party advice as well as the recruitment of additional resources.
People
Andrej Fojkar is a charter fire engineer, registered with the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers.
He has more than 15 years of experience in the field of fire safety engineering. Andrej gained his working experience in fire protection engineering in Slovenia and abroad. He worked for two and a half years in the London branch of Ove Arup & business partners where he was involved in UK and international projects.
Andrej graduated with distinction in fire and explosion engineering at the University of Leeds. He won the award for Best Project (WSP Fire Engineering Design Project MSc Prize).
Andrej utilises performance based approach to fire safety engineering. He is competent in the use of fire engineering modelling tools i.e. fire engineering correlations, zone model CFAST and CFD model FDS.
Andrej has strong understanding of Slovenian and international prescriptive fire regulations, especially English codes (Approved Document B and associated British Standards) and the American NFPA suite of standards.
